My anatomy series is different to a normal series of art work which would normally consist of a certain number of works, I usually have about 6 works per series. The Anatomy series however is an ongoing series and one that I add to when I have inspiration for a drawing. As such this series was started in 2008, currently consists of 18 drawings and I continue to add work to it.

Anatomy is a subject of great interest to me. My interest  in it was first piqued in life drawing classes at art school where I decided I needed to know what was going on underneath the subjects skin in order to better understand the muscles, movements, light, shadow and all the things that made up the figure . I drew a lot of inspiration from the likes of Leonardo Da Vinci.

 

Although this subject matter might be a bit 'out there' for some it fascinates me and provides for some very challenging drawings. I love the detail and mechanics of the body and hope to continue with it for the foreseeable future and delving into some more animal anatomy drawings as well.
